Privacy Policy

cAlliances is a program of Career Actions Network. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through cAlliances.org, how we use it, and how we protect it. It covers members, people invited to Alliances, and people who answer questions sent by a church Alliance.

How We Use AI

cAlliances uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, to power features such as meeting summaries, briefs, research, and answers based on an Alliance’s own records. Because many people have questions about AI and privacy, we want to be direct:

  • When a feature uses AI, the content it needs is sent to Anthropic through Anthropic’s commercial service. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, this content is not used to train Anthropic’s AI models. Anthropic keeps it only for a limited period, for purposes such as safety and abuse monitoring.
  • People always make the decisions. AI organizes, summarizes, and analyzes. Alliance members review its work and decide what to do.
  • Leaders approve before anyone else sees AI summaries. An Alliance leader reviews and approves each meeting summary before other members see it.
  • Some information never goes to AI. This includes anything a member marks “not for AI summaries”.
  • Don’t share credentials with any part of this site. Do not enter financial account numbers, passwords, government ID numbers, or similar credentials anywhere on cAlliances, including AI features. We do not ask for them.

For details on Anthropic’s practices, see Anthropic’s Privacy Policy and its commercial terms.

Information We Collect

From members: your name, email address, professional and profile information, and anything you choose to share through the site. That includes messages, commitments, notes, and contributions to meetings.

From meetings: Alliance meetings take place on Zoom. Meetings are not recorded unless every participant agrees. When a meeting summary is created, it is reviewed and approved by the Alliance leader before members see it.

From people who answer a church Alliance’s questions: see “Church Alliances and Congregation Voices” below.

Technical information: browser type, IP address, pages visited, and similar information, used to operate, secure, and improve the site.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • provide and improve cAlliances services;
  • send briefs and other communications you have chosen to receive;
  • support the Alliances you take part in;
  • understand how the site is used; and
  • keep the website secure and running.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Alliances and Information You Share

Each Alliance is private. Nothing inside an Alliance is public. Information you share in an Alliance is visible to the members of that Alliance. Please use good judgment when sharing personal, professional, confidential, or proprietary information.

Church Alliances and Congregation Voices

A church may form an Alliance: a small team led by its pastor or a designated church leader that works to understand how AI is affecting the congregation. The team may invite members of the congregation to answer short questions. You do not need to join cAlliances to respond. These promises apply to your responses:

  • Your choice of identity. You can answer with your name, privately, or anonymously.
    • Named or private answers are seen only by the pastor or designated church leader. The rest of the team sees summaries without names.
    • Anonymous answers are stored with no name, email, IP address, device details or time of day, and we never link them to anyone. Like every website, our hosting provider keeps standard visit logs, which include IP addresses, for security; we delete archived logs after 30 days.
  • What AI sees. AI helps summarize responses and identify common themes. Before answers reach AI, we remove the names and contact details we know about and any email addresses or phone numbers. We ask people not to include others’ names, and summaries never quote anyone word for word. You can also mark any response “not for AI”: it goes to the church leader only and is never sent to AI.
  • What happens with your response. It is used only by your church’s Alliance to understand the congregation and decide how to help. It is not shared with other churches or published. Any learning shared beyond your church is general and never identifies you or your church without permission.
  • Reporting back. The team may share general themes with the congregation (“what we heard”). It will not identify anyone without permission.
  • Sensitive matters. Some people share hard things, such as job loss, financial stress, or worry about the future. If you want personal help, say so. Otherwise, your response is treated as input, not a request for contact.
  • Changing your mind. You can ask your church leader or us to delete a named response at any time. Anonymous responses can’t be traced back to you, so they can’t be individually deleted.

Each church controls its own Alliance and decides how to respond to what it learns. cAlliances provides the platform and does not direct a church’s ministry.
